Up for auction/sale is an absolute time-capsule piece for the serious postwar Japanese toy collector. This 1947 Occupied Japan Tin Wind-Up Signal Car is in flawless, museum-quality New Old Stock (NOS) condition. It features vibrant, glossy tin lithography and its incredibly fragile, original celluloid-headed driver is completely intact with no cracks, dents, or warping.

Condition Details:

• • The Toy: Brilliant, unchipped original red paint with yellow accents. No scratches, rust, or play wear. The mechanical wind-up mechanism winds smoothly and works perfectly, with the driver's signal arm/body operating exactly as intended.

  • The Driver: Pristine, bright celluloid head. Completely free of the typical crushing or deterioration common with toys of this era.

  • The Box: Extraordinary NOS condition. It retains strong structural integrity, bright graphics, sharp corners, and all original factory end flaps. No modern tape repairs or writing.

This toy has been meticulously preserved in a smoke-free, climate-controlled collection. Finding all three elements—the car, the driver, and the scarce box—in matching, unplayed-with NOS condition is an exceptionally rare opportunity.

As a collector myself, I know how critical box condition is. We specialize in high-end antique toy shipping. This item will be wrapped in bubble wrap if possible, if not tissue paper will be used.  Determined by fit of the toy in original box, placed safely inside its original box, and then double-boxed inside a heavy-duty outer shipping carton surrounded by packing peanuts.  This will eliminate any risk of crushing or transit wear. Fully tracked and insured delivery.
